Welcome to Livingstone House

Brighter Horizon Homes is situated in the London Borough of Croydon and is registered with the Office for Standards in Education (OFSTED). The home comprises of three stories and is situated in a quiet residential street.

The home provides planned and some emergency admission placements for up to three children in single accommodation with learning disabilities and complex needs. The age range of the children and young people accommodated is 5 to 17 years.

The way that they manage XX has been ok, XX seems more confident and comfortable. I know she was heightened when she first arrived but has settled down and has got used to being at the home. I like the way they feed her and take care of her cultural needs. They communicate well with me, and I believe that she is in a safe place. XX herself tells me that she feels safe and that is the most important thing. I know the whole team help her with her day-to-day needs. I don’t have any concerns about the way that they care for her. They are really good at her cultural needs and helping her to take care of her hair, and this shows that they care.

I have been working with the home since around February and it has always been a positive experience. They provide me with highly detailed reports, and this keeps me up to date. There has really been no change in my views of the home since we spoke in April. I am still more than happy that it still is a safe place for XX. She seems very happy there and is making progress. The home has done well to manage a number of challenges with XX, The team have been good at supporting XX to manage any resultant behaviours. I can’t think of anything that they need to improve upon, but their strengths are the quality and detail of the weekly reports and how the pictures that these include show the journey for XX at the home.
